Wait For It  by Mariana Zapata

I can't help but root for Diana, who is fun and fearless, and raising two kids on her own.

(Spoiler alert: The kids aren't even her own kids, but her love for them knows no bounds. She's like a mama bear when it comes to those kids.  And the boys love her back so much.)

Here's a quote from the book that quite frankly describes the whole story:

"Real love was gritty.  The real kind of love never quit.  Someone who loved you would do what's best for you; they'd stand up for you and sacrifice.  Someone who loved you would face any inconvenience willingly.

You didn't know what love was until someone was willing to give up what they loved the most for you.

Sweet book series by Wendy Higgins

Anna and Kaidan's story in: Sweet Evil, Sweet Peril, Sweet Reckoning

Kaidan's point of view: Sweet Temptation 

I was drawn to this book series because the main characters were mentioned in the previous set I was reading.  

That got me curious enough to see what they're all about. 

The story revolves around Anna and Kaidan -- their lives, friends, and their family.  Anna goes through a discovery of her self, her powers, and her heritage. Add some angst on loves and love triangles!  Fearing for their very lives if they do not conform..

I must admit I'm partial to a book series where they include the point of view of both main characters.  These books do not disappoint.

Lux book series by Jennifer Armentrout

I just finished the Lux book series by Jennifer Armentrout.

.. and I loved them all!!!

Katy and Daemon's story in these books:  Obsidian  Onyx  Opal  Origin  Opposition


Bethany and Dawson's story in this book:  Shadows

.. and finally, Daemon's point of view in this book:  Oblivion

This is actually the second time that I read the books.  Awesome read, couldn't put them down.  I loved the pop culture references to Buffy, The Walking Dead, War of the Worlds, Morgan Freeman (I'm a huge fan)  and if you can believe it -- lunchables, of all things, haha. 

There were also references to another set of books that I loved as well -- Soul Screamers by Rachel Vincent.. but that is another blog entry by itself right there (Tod is so awesome!)

It was an emotional roller coaster of love, loss, betrayal, forgiveness, and happiness.  Reading how Katy and Deamon navigate through all the surprises, mostly good, but some not so good.  Katy is a badass, and it's great to read about her interaction with Daemon, who is another badass.

Honestly I'd want to read these books again sometime in the future.  (note to self...)
